First Visit, Dentistry @ 150 Eglinton East

At Dentistry @ 150 Eglinton East, we think of our patients as extended family. Like us, you live in the neighbourhood and we bump into one another at the grocery store, the mall – brunch.

It’s a great community. Over the years, we’ve notice that a lot of our new patients ask many of the same questions. So, we decided to put them all in one place. We hope they help you prepare for your first visit!

How long is my first visit?

Typically, a first appointment with our team will take approximately 60 minutes. We encourage new patients to arrive a few minutes early to familiarize themselves with our clinic and to give us time to review the New Patient Intake Form.

Why should I complete the New Patient Form before my first visit?

The New Patient Form provides us with information we’ll need to create your dental profile and start charting your treatment plan. Completing it in advance means that you can start your treatment immediately. Download it now.

What can I expect during my first visit?

A Review of Your Dental Care History – We’ll review your dental care history, as well as any concerns you currently have about your oral health.

A Complete Oral Exam with X-rays – We’ll perform a complete oral exam, including X-rays, in order to assess the overall health of your smile.

Open Communication & Answers to Your Questions – If there is something specific that you would like to discuss about your oral dental care, please feel free to bring it to our attention during your first visit or any visit for that matter. We care and we’ll listen.

A Full Oral Health Plan – At the end of your first visit, we will prepare recommendations for your total oral health, which will include full oral maintenance, as well as the potential of additional dentistry services that you and your doctor agree upon. We strive to keep all of our patients up to date and educated regarding their dental care to ensure you fully understand all of your dental care options.

Q: What types of dental insurance do you accept?
A: Dentistry @ 150 Eglinton currently accepts all private care insurance plans.

Q: What costs will my insurance company cover?
A: In our experience, we’ve seen benefits change from time to time so it’s important to make sure you know what your plan covers. We can also contact your insurance company for a predetermination for any of the treatment that you require before work is scheduled.

Q: My insurance company didn’t pay for my treatment – now what?
A: We invoice your insurance provider on your behalf as a courtesy. It is important for you to understand that your coverage is a legal contract between you and your insurance company. Our office is not, and cannot be a part of the legal contract.

Q: What payment options are available to me?
A: We require payment in full for your patient portion at the time of your treatment. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Debit, Cash and Cheque.

Q: What is the best way to budget for my treatment?
A: We’re happy to put together a detailed treatment plan with the associated costs clearly outlined so that you can budget for each appointment accordingly. We can also rank treatments so that you can deal with the most pressing treatments right away and deal with the not-so-pressing treatments over time.

Q: Do you offer a payment plan?
A: Yes, we do. Ask us how we can help.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
A: Appointments are scheduled specifically for you. Our team will contact you one week prior and again one day prior to your scheduled appointment with a courtesy reminder.

However, it is your ultimate responsibility to arrive for the scheduled appointment. We require a minimum of 2 full business days’ notice to change and/or cancel appointments.
